Overview
This six-day workshop offers a deep and transformative experience of the Enneagram, focusing on the integration of personality and spirit. Whether you are new to the Enneagram or a long-time student, join us for a unique and life-changing experience.
We believe that the most effective way to learn the Enneagram and recognize differences in the nine personality types is through people speaking from their own experience. Our Narrative Tradition training of the types, with its respectful and deep inquiry, reaches right to the core of type in a compassionate and thoughtful way that no other training offers. Our panel method brings the Enneagram to life, builds community, and supports learning through all three centres of intelligence – heart, mind and body.
You also will learn and practice the Universal Growth Process, a distinctive and simple key to self-mastery that integrates the four As – awareness, acceptance, action and adherence.
The Enneagram Intensive is Section 1 of the Enneagram Professional Training Program (EPTP), which was founded in 1988 by Helen Palmer and David Daniels, M.D., to train and qualify Enneagram teachers in the Narrative Tradition. The EPTP is now offered in 13 countries around the world.
You are welcome to take the Enneagram Intensive either as a stand-alone workshop or with an interest in continuing toward teacher qualification. The program is offered to anyone who has some prior knowledge of the Enneagram. If you are new to the Enneagram, please contact us for learning opportunities prior to the six-day program.
The Enneagram Intensive includes type panels, 12 powerful guided meditations pre-recorded by Helen Palmer, short didactics, self-observation and movement practices, small-group exercises and discussions. We will explore:
- Strengths and challenges for each personality type
- Emotional and psychological defenses
- Core relationship themes
- The work of integrating personality and essence
- How the Enneagram supports our path of personal and professional development
You will hear two complete rounds of panels with the nine personality types and participate on the panels of your type. The first round of panels explores each type’s point of view, basic proposition, relationships and instinctual subtypes. The second round of panels focuses on the defenses of each type, personal reactivity, the path of inner work, integration of personality and spirit, and personal growth.
Who should attend?
- Anyone on a path of personal transformation
- Therapists, counselors, physicians, nurses
- Business managers, coaches, trainers
- Spiritual directors and clergy

Testimonials
“Learning personality development through the eyes of David Daniels and Helen Palmer is being given the gift of deep insight into how temperament and attachment intertwine – both personally helpful and professionally useful in understanding our many layers of perception, emotion and habits of mind. Thank you for providing such exciting new vistas.”
Daniel Siegel, M.D., associate clinical professor of psychiatry at the UCLA Center for Culture, Brain and Development, is a world-renowned expert in Attachment Theory and co-author of Parenting from the Inside Out.
“During and after the training, I experienced the straitjacket of type falling away and the blessedness of essence shining through. I owe Helen and David a debt of gratitude for their profound work. I didn't just learn about the Enneagram – I experienced characterological change.”
K.T., psychotherapist
“I have been a licensed clinical psychologist for 20 years and have attended numerous workshops, classes, and various training opportunities throughout this time. Never have I come across an opportunity for both personal and professional growth anything like what is offered this program. Far beyond advancing my clinical skills, this program has helped me move forward as a full human being.”
D.S., clinical psychologist
“An experience that will benefit me all the days of my life. As a recovering alcoholic I especially recommend this course to those in recovery. As I walk this journey of life, the experience helps my spiritual growth and enhances my ability to reach out to others.”
T.C., coach
“How I survived the world without the Enneagram I will never know. I do know is that my life is so much richer now thanks to the Enneagram, and to my extraordinary teachers. Without their mystery, insight and magic the Enneagram would not have breathed the life as it has.”
G.B., company director
