Since its debut in Berkeley in the 1970s, the Enneagram has been used by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide for personal and professional development. It is a powerful tool for understanding ourselves and the people in our lives.

This new panel series is part of our program of continuing education in psychological and spiritual integration. In the Narrative Tradition of the Enneagram, the stories and insights of experienced panelists bring the system to life and illuminate the challenges and opportunities for working on the type structures and opening the heart. This class series is suitable for both advanced and beginning students.

VIRTUES OF THE HEART will highlight the “vice-to-virtue conversion” in the heart center, helping you to relax your conditioned emotional habit instead of fighting it, fleeing from it or numbing out. We’ll explore the steps of self observation, object negation and object contemplation, and heart-centered practices that can help us relax the personality structure and cultivate a state of emptiness, leading to the awakening of loving kindness. We’ll discuss methods drawn from psychology and spiritual traditions. Each class will include a guided inner practice, short breakout groups and time for questions.

Participants may sign up for the entire series or attend individual classes on a drop-in basis.
