THE ENNEAGRAM: A PATH OF COMPASSION

Whether you’re new to the Enneagram or familiar with this dynamic system, this 4-hour class will deepen compassion for yourself and others. The Enneagram is a nine-pointed symbol that describes nine personality types, each with distinct habits of feeling, thinking and behaving.

Grounded in the Narrative Tradition, this class offers an interactive exploration of the nine personality types through inquiry with panelists who share their personal stories and insights. Each type has a coherent pattern in how the world is perceived and experienced, yet is biased by perceptual filters that cloak or amplify certain aspects of reality.

With a greater understanding of ourselves and others, we can begin to experience more freedom from our unconscious patterns, improve our relationships, and develop greater compassion by seeing from another’s point of view.

In this class we will:

  • Explore the nine types as described by the Enneagram
  • Reveal the primary motivation for each type and center
  • Practice transformative, body-centered awareness techniques

The format is highly interactive, fun, informative and transformative. Through panel interviews in the Narrative Tradition, guided meditations, lectures and body-centered practices, you will come to understand your own worldview and learn more about the worldviews of others.

Location:
TBCMinistries/Conversations, 119 S. Broadway, Edmond, OK 73034

THE ENNEAGRAM FOR INNER GROWTH AND OUTER CHANGE

Determining our personality type through the Enneagram does not put us in a box, but helps us see the box from which we experience the world. With this awareness, we can step outside of our limited perspectives and lead more fulfilling lives.

Ideally, personality is an effective way to express ourselves, but challenges arise when our point of view becomes rigid and we get stuck in automatic habits. While we need a sense of identity and boundaries to navigate life, aspects of our type structure also can separate us from both our humanity and divinity.

Changing personal patterns takes continual practice. During this daylong class, you will learn about the defense systems for each of the nine Enneagram types using three-centered awareness (head, heart and body). You will explore:

  • Who do you believe you need to be to be ok?
  • What do you feel you need to avoid?
  • What do you experience when you try to change?

With a deeper understanding of your unconscious patterns, you can begin to loosen your type structure, enjoy healthier relationships and live more authentically.

The format includes panel interviews in the Narrative Tradition, guided meditations, lectures and body-centered practices. This class is for people familiar with their Enneagram type.
